Penn beaten by Bedfont

PENN & Tylers Green were beaten 5–2 by Bedfont at French School Meadow on Saturday afternoon, as the visitors took advantage of a difficult opening half to claim all three points.

Bedfont made the brighter start and moved into a two-goal lead inside the opening 16 minutes. Jake Beck-Nardoni opened the scoring in the 14th minute before Harvey Seeman doubled the advantage just two minutes later.

Penn looked to respond, but Bedfont struck again just before the interval, with Beck-Nardoni adding his second of the afternoon in first-half stoppage time to leave the visitors 3-0 ahead at the break.

The home side came out with renewed purpose after the restart and were rewarded seven minutes into the second half when Joel Ellis pulled a goal back to give Penn a route back into the contest.

Penn continued to push for a second, but Bedfont restored their three-goal advantage in the 72nd minute when Jack Beech found the net.

The visitors then effectively put the result beyond doubt two minutes later, as Beck-Nardoni completed his hat-trick to make it 5-1.

Penn continued to fight until the final whistle and were rewarded for their persistence in the sixth minute of stoppage time. Kajtek Halatyn converted from the penalty spot to make it 5-2, but there was to be no way back for the home side.
