Women hit six in league opener

TORI Drew netted a hat-trick as Penn & Tylers Green Women produced an outstanding performance on Sunday afternoon – running out 6-0 winners against Chesham United Development in their opening league fixture of the 2026/27 season.

Following last weekend’s impressive display against Kidlington in the FA Cup, Penn found the breakthrough in the 24th minute this time around. Lexi Reid opened the scoring to give the home side the reward their positive start deserved.

Just a minute later, the advantage was doubled. Maisie Williams found the net in the 25th minute to put Penn firmly in control.

And the goals kept coming.

Drew added Penn’s third in the 32nd minute before doubling her personal account with another goal just three minutes later. At the interval, Penn had established a commanding 4–0 lead.

The second half saw us continue to dictate the contest, with the team showing the same energy and determination that had characterised the opening 45 minutes.

The fifth goal arrived in the 63rd minute, with Paige Warner getting her name on the scoresheet to further extend Penn’s advantage.

There was still time for one more moment of brilliance from Drew. The forward completed her hat-trick in the 76th minute, rounding off an excellent individual afternoon and completing the scoring.

Six goals, a clean sheet and three points made it a highly-satisfying afternoon for Penn, with plenty of positives to take forward as the league campaign continues.

The team return to FA Cup action next weekend, travelling to take on Oxford City.
