League leaders deny Penn late on

Penn started brightly and maintained the upper hand for much of the contest.

After a goalless first half, the home side were rewarded for their efforts in the 72nd minute when Aitor Andon found the breakthrough to put us deservedly in front.

However, Burnham responded strongly as the game entered its closing stages and put the Penn defence under increasing pressure.

That pressure eventually told in the 89th minute when Jordan Brown levelled for Burnham.

There was further drama in stoppage time when Brown was shown a red card in the 93rd minute, but Penn were unable to find a late winner and the points were ultimately shared.

Despite the disappointment of conceding so late, there was plenty of encouragement in a performance that saw Penn compete impressively for long periods against a strong Burnham side.
