Penn lift title following Jets success

IT WAS a day of real celebration at French School Meadow on Saturday as Penn & Tylers Green capped a title-winning league season by recording a 3-0 success over Oxhey Jets.

On an afternoon when the players lifted the championship trophy following the full-time whistle, goals from Jeffrey Fordjour (26 minutes), Kajtek Halatyn (42) and Lennon Moore (72) earned three more deserved points.

One-hundred-and-four points for the season, 112 goals.

Joint-manager James Pritchard said: “We wanted to finish the job in the right way.

“We had a tough fixture on Wednesday, but having everyone here today meant we didn’t want to end on a flat note.

“We were conscious of not getting into party mode too soon. In the first 20 minutes, we maybe weren’t at our usual standards – but after that, we took control of the game.

“Our work-rate and intensity went up, and we scored some good goals.

“Now we can enjoy that promotion – a championship-winning promotion that’s taken a lot of hard work. We couldn’t be more pleased.”
