PENN & Tylers Green kept up the heat on their promotion rivals following a 2-1 win at Woodley United on Saturday.
Jamie Essex’s 11th-minute header put Penn in front, before Lennon Moore added a second goal on 25 minutes in what was an excellent opening half for the visitors at The Rivermoor.
Woodley finally pulled a goal back through Kaylum Barlow on 75 minutes to set up a grandstand finale.
Penn held on for all three points ultimately, though – remaining two points behind Bedfont at the top of Combined Counties League Division One with three games in hand.
Ten league games remain this season. James Pritchard and Gio Sepede take the team to London Samurai Rovers on Tuesday – kick-off 7.45pm.
