PENN & Tylers Green Ladies’ promotion hopes were dented following defeat to Chesham United Development on Sunday – despite holding a 3-0 half-time cushion.
The home side roared into a three-goal lead inside half an hour at French School Meadow.
Ellie Lovelock opened the scoring on 11 minutes, before Tara Woodward’s quick-fire double (20 and 28) put Penn firmly in the driving seat.
But visitors Chesham completed turned the game on its head within 14 second-half minutes to ultimately take the points.
Substitute Emma McNamee made it 3-1 on 56 minutes, before further goals from Bo Edwards (60) and Ajla Tang (63) had the visitors level.
Ruby Slade struck the killer blow on 70 minutes.
A tough defeat to take for Dan Gray’s ladies, who will look to provide a response at Oxford City next weekend.
Penn: Whale, Wyncoll, Mackay, Harnby, Baden, Scott-Green, Troth, Woods, Thompson, Lovelock, Woodward.
Subs: Tobin, Coughtrey, Jacobs.
