Seventh heaven for Penn

PENN & Tylers Green hit Berks County for seven goals to progress to the Combined Counties League Division One Challenge Cup semi-finals on Tuesday evening.

Felix Prudden’s second-minute strike set the tone for an utterly-dominant home display at French School Meadow.

Indeed, Penn were four goals to the good at half-time following further strikes from Troy Williams (minutes 21 and 42) and Kajtek Halatyn (37).

Second-half strikes from Joel Ellis (64), Josh Pedley (79) and Prudden (80) rubber-stamped Penn’s progression.

Joint-manager James Pritchard said: “We were conscious of the schedule, so always had it in mind to make changes.

“But they were changes in a big squad and we were fantastic.

“We really put Berks County on the back foot and it was one of those nights that just went for us.

“Our work-rate and efforts in particular were top-drawer – it showed the pathway we have here.”

Penn – who now await their semi-final opponents – travel to Woodley United in the league on Saturday.
