Second-half salvo downs Hillingdon

PENN & Tylers Green’s electric second-half display proved decisive in a 5-3 win over Hillingdon Borough on Saturday.

Jeffrey Fordjour’s 24th-minute opener was cancelled out by the visitors’ Jalen Johnson (35 minutes) at French School Meadow.

However, Penn roared back after the break to collect all three points.

The home side scored three goals in nine minutes to race into a 4-1 lead, as Alfie Branwhite (49), Freddie Pritchard (56) and Troy Williams (58) all hit the net.

Pritchard grabbed a second – Penn’s fifth – on 71 minutes, before Borough added consolation goals through Saw Wood (89) and Adam Ali (90+1).

Joint-manager Gio Sepede said: “We’re delighted with the three points.

“We dominated possession in the first half and rightly went one-nil up, but were susceptible to a counter attack.

“We just had to reset for the second half and we had a 15-minute spell where we blew them away.

“There were some great goals and great performances.”

Penn are in League Challenge Cup quarter-final action versus Berks County at French School Meadow on Tuesday night.
