Losasso spot-kick downs Berks County

CHARLIE Losasso struck late on as Penn & Tylers Green moved to second place in the Combined Counties League Division One table with a 1-0 home win over Berks County on Tuesday.

Following a hugely competitive contest that appeared to be heading for a goalless draw – despite Penn going mightily close on several occasions – Freddie Pritchard was sent tumbling in the box as the home side pressed hard for a winning goal.

Losasso did the rest from 12 yards, coolly burying his effort past the impressive Harvey Rackley-Hayes in the Berks goal in the 80th minute.

It was Charlie’s fifth goal from the spot this season – and followed up his penalty in our 1-1 draw at Bedfont on Saturday.

Joint-manager James Pritchard told ptgfc.co.uk: “It was a very competitive fixture.

“We were very aware of Berks and the form that they’ve been in – they lived up to it.

“Both sides were competing, it was nip-and-tuck with not a lot on it. There were half-chances and their goalkeeper was excellent tonight.

“But we got our bit of luck with the penalty and Charlie stepped up to covert it. We’re delighted with the win – it backs up the point at Bedfont.”

With 12 league games remaining, we welcome Hillingdon Borough to French School Meadow this weekend.
