Penn bounce back to beat Langley

PENN & Tylers Green staged a spirited second-half comeback to secure a 3–2 win over Langley on Saturday, in a pulsating Combined Counties League Division One clash at French School Meadow.

Bouncing back from last weekend’s disappointing defeat at Hillingdon Borough, the hosts took an early lead through Ben Sturgess in the 25th minute, who headed home Freddie Pritchard’s pinpoint centre to put Penn ahead.

However, Langley responded with determination, turning the game on its head before half-time. William Marin converted a penalty in the 42nd minute, and just three minutes later, Savion Shah struck to give the visitors a 2–1 lead going into the break.

Penn regrouped swiftly after the interval, though. Just six minutes into the second half, Charlie Losasso coolly slotted home a penalty to level the scores. The match remained finely balanced, with both sides pushing for a winner.

The decisive moment came in the 83rd minute when Langley’s Chevy Hart inadvertently turned the ball into his own net, handing Penn a dramatic late lead.

Despite a flurry of substitutions – and sin bin for Sturgess in the 68th minute – the home side held firm to claim all three points.

Our men’s first team return to league action on Tuesday, welcoming FC Deportivo Galicia to French School Meadow in a 7.45pm kick-off.
