Solitary strike sees off Sandhurst

PENN & Tylers Green registered a second win in just three days to keep themselves firmly in the Combined Counties League Division One title race – beating Sandhurst Town 1-0 at the SB Stadium on Monday.

Following our excellent 6-2 triumph over Brook House at the weekend, Lennon Moore again opened the scoring in the 13th minute – a goal which proved to be decisive.

Penn enjoyed plenty of subsequent chances to make the lead more comfortable, and also had to endure spells out of possession as Sandhurst searched for a way back into the game.

The visitors were ultimately able to take three points back to French School Meadow, though, with joint-manager James Pritchard commenting: “It was certainly hard fought against a competitive Sandhurst side.

“They moved the ball well and we had to be patient, compact – but we were.

“We have to have different sides to our game and we showed that. It was a massively quick turnaround, but an excellent shift from everyone once again.”

Penn head to top-of-the-table Bedfont at the weekend.
