Penn brush aside Brook House

PENN & Tylers Green finally returned to action on Saturday following several recent postponements, producing a statement win by brushing aside promotion rivals Brook House 6-2 at French School Meadow.

In a rip-roaring opening, Lennon Moore opened the scoring as early as the eighth minute before Charlie Lossaso doubled the Penn advantage from the penalty spot on 26 minutes.

Kian Austin’s 40th-minute strike gave the hosts a commanding half-time lead.

Brook House threatened a comeback when striking just three minutes into the second half through Donell Mensah, but Penn weren’t to be silenced.

Indeed, after Jeffrey Fordjour netted an impressive solo strike on 59 minutes, further goals from Felix Prudden (88) and Troy Williams (penalty, 90+1) made for an emphatic scoreline.

Brook House – who were reduced to 10 men when Domingos Pires was dismissed for a second yellow card in the 74th minute – struck a last-gasp consolation through Oluwajenyo Balogun.

Joint-manager Gio Sepede explained: “It’s a big win – Brook House were top of the league, they’ve been the best team in the league so far.

“We prepared really well. We hadn’t played for four weeks, but we’ve trained very competitively and the lads were fresh, they were ready.

“Our quality came through.”

Penn return to action as soon as Monday, travelling to take on Sandhurst Town.
