Solitary strike sees off Sandhurst
PENN & Tylers Green registered a second win in just three days to keep themselves firmly in the Combined Counties League

PENN & Tylers Green Ladies climbed to second in the league table with an excellent 4-1 victory over Slough Town on Sunday afternoon.
Ellie Lovelock’s double as well as goals from Rachel Southby and Shannon Read handed Dan Gray’s side a big win in the race for promotion at Arbour Park.
Southby’s 25-yard stunner gave Penn an eighth-minute lead, before the visitors doubled that advantage just a minute later when Lovelock struck from a similar range.
Slough halved the deficit ahead of half-time when Southby unfortunately turned a free-kick into her own net in the 35th minute.
But Penn made a dominant display count with two further goals in the closing half.
Read added her name to the scoresheet courtesy of another impressive distance strike on 52 minutes, before Lovelock reacted first to a loose ball in the box to add her second of the afternoon – Penn’s fourth – on the hour mark.
An excellent win for the ladies, who will now ready themselves for next weekend’s visit of Abingdon United Development.
Penn: Whale, Wyncoll, Mackay, Harnby, Helmer, Southby, Troth, Brockwell, Read, Lovelock, Woodward.
Subs: Jones, Baden, Misselbrook, Thompson, Woods.
