THE OPPOSITION

About Molesey

Molesey FC traces its roots back to 1892 when it was formed as Hampton Court and East Molesey Association FC by former Corinthian James Jenkinson Knox. Renamed Molesey FC in 1896, the club underwent several early mergers before the modern- day club took shape in 1946 through the unification of Molesey United and West Molesey Old Boys. That same year, they won the Surrey Intermediate League at the first attempt and later joined the Surrey Senior League, claiming the title in 1957/58. The club’s post-war history has included spells in the Spartan League, Athenian League, and Isthmian League, reaching its peak in the early 1990s when Molesey finished runners-up in Isthmian Division One and reached the FA Cup first round in 1993/94. After several promotions and relegations over the decades, the club won the Combined Counties League Premier Division in 2014/15, earning promotion back to the Isthmian League. Following further league restructuring and results, Molesey now compete in the Combined Counties League Division One, aiming to rebuild under their long-standing identity.
