FA Four Corners: what this develops
Technical / TacticalPsychologicalPhysicalSocial

Objective

Playing and moving: using a wall pass (one-two) to combine past a defender, with a well-timed run and a composed finish.

Coaching points

  • Pass firmly and go, do not admire the pass
  • Time the run to stay onside and burst as the ball is played
  • Support player: open the body and return it first time into space, not to feet
  • Finish across the keeper or into the far corner, low and early

Progressions

  • Add a recovering second defender to make the finish quicker
  • Limit the attacker to two touches after the return
  • Play it from wide so the return sets up a cross rather than a shot
  • Make it live: the defender can win it and counter to a small goal
